Dr. Howard Margolese, Psychiatrist and Director, PEPP-MUHC

Biography:
Dr Margolese is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University. He is currently the Program Director of the McGill RCPSC Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology residency program. He is also the Director of the MUHC PEPP and Schizophrenia Spectrum Program (EPSSP) and Director of the Clinical Psychopharmacology Unit. Dr Margolese enjoys teaching both residents and medical students and is the coordinator of the continuing care rotation for residents at the MUHC. Dr Margolese’s research interests include drug-induced movement disorders, first episode psychosis and pharmacotherapy of schizophrenia. He is either a PI or co-investigator for several clinical research trials. He has given numerous lectures and presentations both nationally and internationally and published over 60 articles. In his clinical work, Dr Margolese specializes in the psychopharmacology consultation of treatment resistance or complex psychopharmacology regimens, first episode psychosis, and treatment-resistant schizophrenia.

Biography:
Marie-Joëlle Bédard has been working in mental health with the adolescent population since 2012 at the Montreal Children's Hospital. From the first Quebec cohort of nurse practitioners specializing in mental health, she is a pioneer both by her professional role and by her mandate to ensure a bridge between youth and adult services provided to clients by the first psychotic episode program at Montreal Children's Hospital and the Allan Memorial Institute.

Biography:
Julie graduated from McGill with a Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2004. She has good community service experience both in Montreal and in New York State. She has been working as a Social worker at the MUHC's Mental Health Mission since 2010, and with PEPP since 2020.
