How to get to The Neuro

The main entrance of The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) is at 3801 University Street, located north of Pine Avenue. Cars or taxis may drive up to the main entrance and drop off passengers.

Public transportation to get to The Neuro

There are two drop off zones: 

  • The Neuro’s main entrance on University Street 

  • the entrance to Molson Stadium 

After drop off, vehicles must go to the parking lot or leave the area. Vehicles are not allowed to wait in the drop off zones. All entrances, exits and roads must be kept clear for safety reasons. The City of Montreal can issue tickets to vehicles that are parked illegally. 

The Neuro has three handicap-accessible entrances. They are in these zones: 

  • to the left of the building’s main entrance on University Street 

  • through The Neuro Emergency Department entrance at the back of the hospital

Please note: These parking spaces are closed until May 5, 2024 due to construction. Please use the handicap accessible parking spots on University Street or at Molson Stadium (see details below).

Please note: When the Alouettes play a home game, there is no access to the parking lot the day before and on game day.  

Parking rates*

Parking rates change every April 1st according to a fee schedule established by the Government of Quebec. Therefore, the following rates will be applied as of April 1st, 2023:

Less than 2 hours Free
2-4 hours $6.25
4-24 hours $10.75

To benefit from the reduced rate, patients should visit the security desk at the Allan Memorial Institute, located at 1025 Pine Avenue West, to receive a reduced rate coupon.

Directions to the parking lot: 

From any highway, follow the sign for downtown and exit at Atwater or Guy. Both will take you to Dr. Penfield where you will turn left on Peel Street and come up to Pine Ave. Pine is a one way going East, but you will stay in the right hand lane and when the light changes continue right up the driveway where you will be given a ticket to enter the parking.

Directions to the parking lot:

You will need to go to the top of University Street (past The Neuro) and turn right to enter the parking lot.

Where does parking money go?

Where does parking money go? As per government directives, our parking lots and services are self-financed. Parking revenues are used to repay the cost of construction, maintenance, staffing, etc. Any excess revenues go into the hospital operating budget in order to support patient care, including the purchase of hospital equipment, etc.

 

Public transportation to get to The Neuro

The nearest metro station is McGill on the green line, which is located at the corner of University Street and de Maisonneuve Boulevard. It will take you approximately 20 minutes to walk from the McGill Metro station to the main entrance of the hospital.

  • Bus 144. Exit at the stop on Pine Avenue and University Street.
  • Bus 535 at Parc Avenue and Prince Arthur Street.
  • Bus 107 at Pine Avenue and Doctor Penfield Street.
  • Bus 24 at Sherbrooke Street and University Street.
