Update - Family visitation policy: caregivers need to obtain a bracelet in order to visit patients starting January 4, 2022

With the rapid spread of Omicron, the MUHC is taking additional precautions to keep patients, families and staff safe. These measures are temporary and follow recent instructions given by the Quebec Ministry of Health. This guidance will be updated as new information becomes available.

As of Tuesday, January 4, 2022, caregivers for patients at the MGH, GLEN, NEURO adult sites will need to obtain a BRACELET in order to visit patients.

Please note that this bracelet is issued under the caregiver’s name only (not transferable).

For now, only one (1) caregiver at a time can be present at the bedside of the patient.

Caregiver identification bracelets: To get a bracelet, we ask you to visit between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., when staff will be available to provide you one. We will verify if you have been identified as a caregiver by the patient and healthcare team. In the affirmative, we will give you a bracelet. You will have to keep this bracelet as you will need to show it to the security guards every time you come to visit.

***IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT OBTAINING A BRACELET AND/OR THE FAMILY PRESENCE POLICY, PLEASE SPEAK WITH YOUR HEALTHCARE TEAM***

The MUHC remains strongly committed to balancing patient-centered care while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients, families and staff. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
