Important update regarding visiting Intensive and Critical Care Units at the MUHC

Following the rapid rise of Omicron cases in the community, the MUHC has decided to limit visits:

1. in the intensive care units (ICU) of the Royal Victoria Hospital (Glen site), the Montreal General Hospital and the Montreal Neurological Hospital.
2. in the critical care units (CCU) of the of the Royal Victoria Hospital (Glen site) and the Montreal General Hospital

This difficult decision was made in order to ensure the safety of our most critically ill patients.

Therefore, as of 7:30 am on December 26th, for a 2-week period, visits will only be allowed in end-of-life situations or based on the clinical judgement of the care team. 

We have already started informing the family members of our patients and will ensure patients are able to communicate with their families during this difficult period.
