At the MUHC, the Nursing Directorate has put in place many measures to promote well-being and a healthy balance between work and personal life.

- Self-scheduling via new mobile app. As of the end of 2025, this platform will allow nursing staff to manage their work schedules directly from their mobile devices.
- Choice of 8- or 12-hour shifts, depending on the unit
- No mandatory overtime
- Rotation of shifts (day–evening or day–night, with 50% guaranteed to be day shifts)
- Two on-site childcare centres

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available 24/7
- Peer psychosocial support program
- Employee Recognition Program, offering a variety of services and activities designed to strengthen staff appreciation and support a culture of recognition within the organization. Initiatives include:
- Recognition of years of service
