COVID-19: Situation on the 15th floor of the Montreal General Hospital

The 15th floor of the Montreal General Hospital of the McGill University Hospital Centre is experiencing an outbreak of confirmed cases of COVID-19: six patients in this unit have tested positive and have been placed in isolation on the COVID ward. 

Public health authorities have been notified.

Until further notice, new admissions to this unit have been halted. All patients and healthcare workers on the 15th floor are being screened for COVID-19. 

In accordance with the COVID-19 protocols established by the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Department, the MUHC Human Resources and IPC teams are conducting an epidemiological investigation to trace close contacts of infected individuals.
