Exceptional display of compassion at the Camille Lefebvre Pavilion

We would like to express our gratitude to the family of the late Mrs. Gilberte Stonehouse for the remodelling of the family room at the Camille Lefebvre Pavilion.

Mrs. Stonehouse was a delightful resident of Camille Lefebvre for four years. During her time with us, she showed her strength and resilience, maintaining much of her independence. She passed away four days shy of her 101th birthday.

After her passing, her daughter Rosemarie wanted to give back to the pavilion’s 4th floor and to the other families who find themselves there. Rosemarie launched a GoFundMe in her mom’s honour to raise enough money to refurbish the family room.

This art piece was made in Turkey, where Mrs. Stonehouse’s husband was born. The tree represents the cycles of life.

The room was re-painted a calming light grey, new curtains were installed, and a new sofa and love seat were also purchased. An incredible art piece of a tree now gives the space a peaceful atmosphere. Overall, the room feels delicate and inviting.

“Rosemarie knows first-hand what it feels like to adapt to the transition of placing a loved one in a care home. We would like thank Rosemarie and her family for this exceptional display of compassion for the families of the 3rd and 4th floors, and their loved ones.”

The MUHC also thanks Rosemarie and her family for their exceptional gift of thoughtfulness.
