Special Day for Residents at the Camille-Lefebvre Pavilion

Residents of the Camille-Lefebvre Pavilion at the Lachine Hospital celebrated International Day of Older Persons with treats and a special musical event featuring Danielle Carter, President of the Residents’ Committee. This global observance, held annually on October 1, was established by the United Nations to recognize the strength, contributions, and influence of older adults in society.

At the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), we use this occasion to honour the resilience of our older patients.

“At the Camille-Lefebvre Pavilion, we are privileged to accompany and support our residents in their daily lives. It is a reminder that aging is not simply a process, but a journey that deserves dignity, recognition, and appreciation. We are committed to fostering an environment where older persons feel valued, respected, and empowered,” says Nancy Plaisir, DSM Coordinator for NSA and SAPA.

Residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches and popsicles while listening to wonderful live music. To our residents, families, and staff — thank you for making every day an opportunity to learn from one another and to celebrate the gift of life at every stage.

Let us reflect on the vital role older persons play in our communities and to renew our commitment to ensuring their voices are heard and their well-being remains a priority.
