Thoracic Surgery
The MUHC’s Division of Thoracic and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgery treats patients with malignant (cancerous) and benign (non-cancerous) conditions, including:
- achalasia (food can’t move easily from the throat to the stomach)
- esophagus cancer
- gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)
- lung cancer
- mesothelioma (cancer of the lining that covers organs in the chest area)
- paraesophageal hernia (stomach slipping up next to the esophagus)
- stomach cancer
