Panelists are asked to discuss how the information presented and the resolutions of debates could be incorporated into a renewed framework for healthcare.

Gerald Baier, PhD Gerald Baier is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia.

The Honourable Claude Castonguay, CC, OQ Throughout his distinguished career as public servant, politician and corporate leader, Claude Castonguay has been a force for creative new approaches to social and economic issues. He has been involved in a number of Quebec and Canadian commissions and studies including the seminal Commission d'enquête sur la santé et le bien-être social (1970) which provided the blueprint for Québec’s Health and Social welfare system. Most recently, he chaired the working group on health care financing in Québec for the Quebec Government.

The Honourable Diane Marleau, MP First elected as Member of Parliament for Sudbury in 1988, Diane Marleau has served as Canadian Minister of Health: Public Works and Government Services; Minister for International Cooperation and Minister Responsible for La Francophonie. She is apassionate defender of the Canada Health Act.

Sam Benaroya, MD, FRCP(C) Dr. Sam Benaroya is a general internist at the McGill University Health Centre (Royal Victoria Hospital) and Associate Vice Principal, Health Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University.

Doris Grinspun, RN Doris Grinspun is President of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. She has worked in and examined health systems in other countries, including the U.S. and Chile, and sees the potential improvements in health outcomes that come from effective nursing when this is cultivated within the health care system.

The Honourable Hugh Segal, LLD, OC Hugh Segal is one of Canada's better-known public policy experts. He is a former Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Canada and Associate Secretary of the Ontario Cabinet. He is a past president of the Institute for Research on Public Policy of Canada and teaches at Queen’s University Schools of Policy Studies and Business.
