Public information meeting on May 13, 2025

On Tuesday, May 13, a public information meeting for the Lachine Hospital modernization project (HOP Lachine!) took place. Residents from the neighborhood were invited on TEAMS to hear from project stakeholders about the progress of the construction and the preparations for transitioning certain services to the new hospital. Some 30 people attended the meeting.

Pierre-Marc Legris, Director of Technical Services at the MUHC, hosted the event. Fanta Sibidé, ProjectCoordinator at AXOR, provided an update on construction progress, followed by Claude Lemieux, Senior Project Management Advisor at the MUHC, who reviewed the project timeline. MyriamMénard, Assistant Director of Lachine Hospital and CHSLD Camille-Lefebvre was next and spoke about new services and transition preparations. François Mackay,Vice President of the Lachine Hospital Foundation, closed the event with an update from the Foundation.

During question period, the team was joined by Jean-Simon Frenette, Project Director for the Quebec Infrastructure Society. Key project leaders answered questions from the Lachine community and hospital neighbors, covering topics such as services at the new hospital, various challenges, and noise mitigation.
