International Security Officers Day: Thank you to our teams

On this International Security Officers Day, we would like to highlight the essential work of our security teams across our facilities.

Always on duty, day and night, MUHC security agents ensure the safety of our facilities, our staff, patients, and visitors. Their professionalism and vigilance are essential to the smooth running of our institutions.

This year marks important additions to their role with two new measures:

  • The use of bulletproof vests to provide better protection during interventions.
  • The implementation of a search and seizure policy and procedure to strengthen the security of our facilities, our staff, and our users.

“Following an assessment of best practices, we introduced protective vests for security agents working on all shifts at the Montreal General Hospital,” says Jean-Sébastien Lavigne, Department Head (interim), Security and Emergency Measures. “The goal is to ensure our teams are equipped to handle all situations and to help maintain a safe environment for everyone.”

These additions reflect our commitment to supporting their work and providing them with tools that meet the realities of their profession.

Thank you to all our security officers for their dedication and professionalism!
