Elected to the 2026 Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

Congratulations to the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) physicians who have been elected as fellows within the 2026 Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) cohort. The CAHS brings together Canada’s top-ranked health and biomedical scientists and scholars to make a positive impact on the urgent health concerns of Canadians.

• Dr. Armen Aprikian, Professor of Surgery and Oncology at McGill University and Chief of Oncology at the MUHC and Cedars Cancer Centre. He is a surgeon-scientist in the field of prostate cancer, health economics, and quality of care of urologic malignancies. 
• Dr. Liane Feldman, internationally recognized gastrointestinal surgeon, outcomes scientist, and health system leader whose work has transformed perioperative care. A pioneer in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), she has helped improve surgical outcomes, shorten hospital stays, and expand access to care.
• Dr. Edward Fon, Director of The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) and a clinician-scientist and neurologist specializing in movement disorders.
• Dr. Momar Ndao, internationally recognized expert in infectious diseases and parasitology, whose pioneering research has advanced diagnostics, vaccine development, and drug discovery.
• Dr. Lorenzo Ferri, the David Mulder Chair in Surgery, who maintains an active research program investigating the mechanisms of therapy resistance in esophageal cancer and the inflammatory basis of cancer progression.
• Dr. Michael Petrides, a world leader in neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience. His research is characterized by detailed explorations of function in relation to specific brain circuits.
