Accueil Clinique is an MUHC service that helps some patients avoid hospitalization or long stays in the emergency department. It works with the emergency departments at the Royal Victoria and Montreal General hospitals to coordinate patient access to diagnostic services and medical specialists. 

Accueil Clinique helps patients with subacute clinical conditions get quick and safe care as outpatients.

A subacute clinical condition is a health problem that has been slowly getting worse and needs medical attention, but is not an emergency.​

Accueil Clinique only accepts referrals from the emergency departments at the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Montreal General Hospital. 

It is for patients whose health status is stable. Patients may have:

• ​suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT) 
• ​renal colic 
• ​hematuria
