A few testimonials from our volunteers

"I started volunteering in Arts and Crafts at the Montreal Neurological Hospital. Every week I visit new patients and encounter different situations. What brings the patients and I together is the crafts we decide to make. I find it very rewarding to see the smile on the patient’s face once he or she has finished the craft, or when they show their family or visitors what they’ve created. To know that I have made their day a little brighter and that makes my day a little brighter. I plan to continue volunteering to have the chance to make someone else’s day brighter as often as possible."

"The hours that I spend volunteering for the Royal Victoria Hospital are a special part of my week away from my studies. I always look forward to coming in and playing the piano for the patients and their families. I love playing and being able to share music with others and it gives me so much pleasure when patients come out of their rooms in the hall where I play to sing and clap along. Research has shown that musical therapy can have a profound positive effect on physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. I hope that my role contributes to the healing process of patients and ultimately to their overall well-being. My long-term goal is to become a physician and help patients any way I can to improve their conditions or rehabilitate them. I feel like I am a contributing member of the medical team already, with a great team of doctors, nurses and other staff dedicated to patients’ care."
