How does the MUHC plan to create a new image using that same people involved during the corruption period of the past? How did Johnathan Goldbloom get this $600,000 contract? Did it go to tender?

The contract of Jonathan Goldbloom and Associates (JGA) was not to create a new image for the MUHC. The 2013-2015 contract states that the firm was to provide strategic advice to the Executive office and contribute to the institution’s transformation to 2015, which involves the physical move of three hospitals and two research institutes, as well as a significant reorganization of the care we provide patients, both internally and within the regional health network. Moreover, JGA contributed to the MUHC financial recovery plan, which is on-track to balance the budget by March 31. His mandate also included interfacing with the Board of Directors and the hospital’s foundations.

Considering Mr. Goldbloom’s unique background and the pressing nature of the appointment, the contract did not go to tender. The JGA contract has since been cancelled effective August 18.
