Choosing to work at the MUHC is all about finding that life-work balance
By day, Jasmine works at OPTILAB-MUHC as a Laboratory Technologist. Once she finishes her shift, she makes time for her passion-projects, which includes being a Barre instructor! Barre is a toning workout with techniques inspired by ballet, Pilates and yoga. Jasmine's decision to teach fitness classes comes from a profound personal experience:
My journey took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, necessitating a leave from work. Enduring the rigors of treatment was challenging, but I chose to keep myself busy and find an outlet of my own. I remained committed to maintaining an active lifestyle throughout my cancer battle, and I promised myself, After having my health deteriorate, I will value the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
I became a certified Barre instructor, finding myself entirely driven by newfound passions. While my hobbies may diverge significantly from my career path, I firmly believe that the skills we acquire in one area are inherently transferable and complement all spheres of our lives.
