New Montreal Shriners Hospital for Children officially opens

As CBC and other media reported, hospital and government officials, past and present patients, members of the public and around 2,000 Shriners were present to cut the ribbon at the new Montreal Shriners Hospital for Children as it opened on Thursday. The hospital has moved to the McGill University Health Centre's (MUHC) Glen site, just besides the Montreal Children's Hospital. The new hospital is scheduled to open its doors to the public on September 1st

Cyclists arrive in Montreal to wrap up fundraising ride

After two and a half days on the road, more than 40 people rode into the Glen site of the MUHC on Friday, completing this year’s 576-kilometre journey from Toronto to raise funds for children’s cancer research and the Cedars Cancer Foundation. CTV News and Global News were there to capture the achievement.

In Canada, one man in two is in poor health, according to an article published in La Presse. Men, who are influenced by the strong male stereotype, don’t take care of themselves, keep away from hospitals and consult clinicians only in case of extreme emergency. According to  MUHC urologist Dr. Peter Chan  this is particularly true when we are talking about problems that affectthe reproductive system.

My child is anxious

Dr. Chandra Magill, a psychiatrist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) was interviewed by the magazine Coup de pouce to draw attention to anxiety and help parents differentiate what might be considered “normal anxiety” and that associated with an anxiety disorder.
