Temporary closure of one traffic lane on Cedar Ave

A temporary closure of one lane of traffic on Cedar Avenue will take place on Saturday July 11 between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. in order to transfer a piece of biomedical equipment from the Montreal General Hospital (MGH). A crane will be installed in front of the 1750 Cedar Avenue building, to the west of the main MCH entrance on Cedar ave., in order to transport the equipment from D5.

  • Only one lane of traffic will be open to facilitate traffic in both directions along 170 Cedar Ave.  
  • Vehicles will be allowed entry to MGH via Cedar Ave. 
  • Parking for dialysis patients will be reserved 
  • 2 to 3 taxis will be allowed to park next to the MGH entrance on Cedar Ave. 
  • Emergency vehicles may pass through the work zone if needed. 

Accessing Montreal General Hospital

  • All hospital entrances will stay open
  • A secured sidewalk will be maintained
  • atients, visitors and staff of the MGH are encouraged to use the Des Pins/Côte-des-Neiges entrance and parking access. 

Signage and signalmen will be on site to direct traffic. 

Impact on local residents:

Signalmen will facilitate access for local residents.
