Shining a light on peri-anesthesia (PACU) nurses at the MUHC

From February 3 to 7, the McGill University Health Centre proudly recognizes the vital contributions of peri-anesthesia (PACU) nurses during Peri-Anesthesia Nurse Awareness Week. These skilled professionals are integral to ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care before and after surgery.

Peri-anesthesia nurses are found across all of our hospitals, adult and pediatric. Their work is central to providing seamless care in a variety of settings, from pre-operative assessments to monitoring recovery in post-anesthesia care units. They collaborate closely with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Beyond their clinical expertise, these nurses exemplify the strength of teamwork. Their ability to rely on one another fosters a supportive, family-like environment that benefits both colleagues and patients alike. The exceptional care they provide reflects their unwavering commitment to excellence in critical care.

Join us in celebrating the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our peri-anesthesia nurses. Their contributions are essential to our mission of providing exceptional patient care.
