Public information meeting on October 23, 2024
On Wednesday, October 23, the public information meeting for the Lachine Hospital modernization project (HOP Lachine!) took place. Residents from the neighborhood were invited to the hospital to hear from project stakeholders about the progress of the construction and the preparations for transitioning certain services to the new hospital. The meeting was also shown simultaneously on Teams. Some 30 people attended the meeting, either in person or virtually.
Colleen Timm, Interim PDGA at the MUHC, hosted the event. Martin Gagnon, Infrastructure Project Manager at AXOR, provided an update on construction progress, followed by Claude Lemieux, Senior Project Management Advisor at the MUHC, who reviewed the project timeline. Myriam Ménard, Assistant Director of Lachine Hospital and CHSLD Camille-Lefebvre was next and spoke about new services and transition preparations. Jean-Simon Frenette, Project Director for the Quebec Infrastructure Society, discussed scheduling adjustments made by the borough. François Mackay,Vice President of the Lachine Hospital Foundation, closed the event with an update from the Foundation.
During question period, the team was joined by Pierre-Marc Legris, Director of Technical Services at the MUHC. Key project leaders answered questions from the Lachine community and hospital neighbors, covering topics such as services at the new hospital, various challenges, and noise mitigation. Questions about landscaping around the hospital were also addressed.
