Important road closures: update, September 17 to 25

Due to road closures related to the UCI Road World Championships taking place throughout September, please make sure to plan for changes to your usual commute, particularly if you have a medical appointment.

Routes vary each day depending on the events, which means that affected areas and street closure times will be different from one day to the next.

Plan ahead before leaving and allow extra travel time, whether you are driving or taking public transit.

Between September 19 and 25, please use Sherbrooke Street and University Street to access The Neuro, and Sherbrooke Street and Côte-des-Neiges Road to access the Montreal General Hospital.

We encourage you to use public transit. Some bus routes will be detoured. You can visit the STM website for more information. On September 21 and 22, staff travelling to Montréal from the South Shore can use the free park-and-ride facility at the Chevrier parking lot in Brossard. Free shuttles will provide service to the Du Quartier REM station between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., and between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Parking and shuttle service are free; however, a valid transit fare is required to use the REM.

Road closures

To help you plan your commute, we have listed the road closures affecting access to our facilities each week. The Montreal General Hospital, Allan Memorial Institute, The Neuro, Jewish General Hospital, where Optilab-CUSM employees work, as well as our Place Dupuis facilities, are affected.

The Glen site is also affected, and access from the north is recommended.

We will update this information every Thursday. The Lachine Hospital is not affected.

If you normally use one of these roads to get to work, please plan an alternate route.

September 17 to 25

• Park Avenue, between Mount Royal Avenue and Pine Avenue — fully closed until early October
• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road and Mount Royal Avenue — some sections fully closed from September 19 to 25.

September 19 to 22 (near the Reproduction Centre – Place Dupuis)

• Berri Street, between Roy Street and Sainte-Catherine Street — 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
• Ontario Street, between Berri Street and Atateken Street — 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
• Atateken Street, between Ontario Street and Saint-Antoine Street — 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

September 23 to 25 (around Mount Royal)

• Remembrance Road, between Camillien-Houde Way and Côte-des-Neiges Road — 4 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Camillien-Houde Way, between Mount Royal Avenue and Remembrance Road — 4 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Mount Royal Avenue, between Fernhill Avenue and Saint-Urbain Street — 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Mount Royal Avenue, between Pagnuelo Avenue and Fernhill Avenue — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, between Villeneuve Street, Maplewood Avenue and Mount Royal Avenue — 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, between Vincent-d’Indy Avenue and Pagnuelo Avenue — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Côte-des-Neiges Road, east side, between Remembrance Road and Gatineau Avenue — 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saint-Urbain Street, between Mount Royal Avenue and Pine Avenue — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Pine Avenue, between Saint-Urbain Street and Park Avenue — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Gatineau Avenue, between Côte-des-Neiges Road and Maréchal Avenue — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Maréchal Avenue, between Gatineau Avenue and Decelles Street — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Decelles Street, between Maréchal Avenue and Queen-Mary Road — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Pagnuelo Avenue, between Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road and Mount Royal Avenue — 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
