"The Lachine Hospital is an important facility that reaches a large number of users, and we are committed to providing them with even more accessible and safe services, in a user-friendly setting that better meets current and future clinical needs. Our government strongly believes in this major project for the city."

Christian Dubé, Minister of Health and Social Services

"The work that will begin in the very near future will bring to fruition a major project for the community in this sector of the city. Ultimately, users will be able to benefit from a care environment that is even better adapted to current health issues. In addition, the staff will find a work environment that will promote the best possible service delivery and that will contribute to better support the expertise of the clinical teams."

Chantal Rouleau, Minister of Transport, Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montreal region

"From the beginning of the project, we have worked with patients and employees to ensure that the Lachine Hospital becomes a modern, patient-centred healthcare facility with a human face. What we see today is the beginning of a great achievement not only for the population of Lachine, Dorval and the surrounding area, but also for our employees and those who will join the ranks in the future."

MUHC President and CEO, Dr. Pierre Gfeller

"The Lachine Hospital is a community hospital that plays an important role for the population of Lachine and to continue to offer its proximity service it needed to be renovated. I am very happy to see this important project for our community finally come to fruition. It is a project that brings people together around a vision where our community is able to obtain quality local healthcare. Monday's meeting will be an opportunity to reiterate the importance of our community hospital to the riding."

Enrico Ciccone, MP for Marquette

The community of Lachine is proud of its community hospital and it is with great emotion and happiness that we welcome this important investment by the Quebec government. In the future modern facilities, our doctors and healthcare personnel will be able to contribute more to the health and well-being of our citizens. We look forward to the spring to celebrate the start of the long awaited and much needed construction."

Maja Vodanovic, Mayor of Lachine

"When I learned of the scope of the renovation project planned for this building, I was extremely pleased to see the concerted effort to preserve its unique character. The improvement of its many services will be greatly appreciated by the residents of Dorval, Lachine and the surrounding communities.

Marc Doret, Mayor of the City of Dorval

"The Lachine Hospital Foundation, in partnership with the MUHC Foundation, is committed to raising $5 million over the next four years. The Dare to Dream Campaign for the Lachine Hospital will finance the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment that is not covered by the ministerial budget. With a project of this magnitude, we are hoping for enthusiastic participation from the community. We are all responsible for the health of our community and together we will raise $5 million for the Lachine Hospital modernization project."

Jacques Filion, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lachine Hospital Foundation.
