HOP Lachine: citizens briefed at 2nd public information meeting

On September 13, 2022, the residents of the boroughs of Lachine and Dorval were invited to the second information meeting on the start of construction of the Lachine Hospital modernization project, which includes the expansion of the community hospital as well as upgrades to certain units in the historic building.

Citizens were able to learn more about the future hospital and its services, as well as the timeline of the overall project. A presentation on the preparatory work expected for fall 2022 was given to the participants including the impacts and the mitigation measures planned for the neighborhood.

A question period allowed members of the public to voice their concerns about the execution of some of the work, such as relocation of oxygen tanks on the hospital grounds, parking spaces and construction schedules.

Nearly thirty citizens participated in the virtual meeting that was held in the presence of Dr. Pierre Gfeller, President and Executive Director of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), team project members, representatives of the Société québécoise des infrastructures, the architectural firm Provencher_Roy, Axor Construction and the Executive Director of Lachine Hospital Foundation.
