First baby of 2026 at the MUHC: it’s a girl!

What a wonderful way to start the year at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). The first baby of 2026 born at the MUHC is a baby girl!

Baby Sophia was born at 12:46 a.m. on January 1, 2026, weighing 7 pounds and 15 ounces. Both the baby and her mother, Miriam, are doing well. Proud father Maged was also present. The family is from Vaudreuil.

Congratulations to Miriam and Maged on the arrival of their baby, and best wishes to the entire family!
