Closures on the Ville-Marie Expressway

The Ville-Marie Expressway (Route 136) will be closed eastbound between the Turcot Interchange and downtown Montreal the weekend of October 20, 2023. This closure is required for the relocation of a major drain and slab repair work. Traffic delays are to be expected.

Closures and traffic management

Route 136 (Ville-Marie Expressway) eastbound (toward downtown)

  • Complete closure between the Turcot Interchange and the entrances from rue de la Cathédrale and boulevard Robert-Bourassa, from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Route 136 (Ville-Marie Expressway) westbound (toward Dorval and the airport)

  • Complete closure of the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier street,  Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m..
  • Closure of one lane in the area of the entrance from Fort street, Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Closures by default in the Turcot Interchange

  • Ramp from the A-15 NORTH to the R-136 EAST, from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;
  • A-20 EAST / R-136 EAST in the interchange, from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;
  • Entrance from Pullman Boulevard toward R-136 EAST, from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Note : The ramp from the A-15 (Décarie) SOUTH to the R-136 EAST will remain open but circulation will be limited to a designated corridor which will only lead to exit 2 Atwater Avenue.

These closures will likely create an increase in traffic on the local road network around the Glen site, in addition to complicating access to downtown sites (Montreal General Hospital and The Neuro - Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital). Please take this into account when making your travel plans. If it is possible to do so, public transport should be used.
