Celebrating World Pharmacist Day

On September 25, let’s celebrate World Pharmacist Day. It’s an opportunity to honour the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare. Working hand in hand with doctors and nurses, pharmacists ensure the optimal use of medication, manage drug interactions, monitor side effects, and provide invaluable pharmaceutical care to patients. Their expertise ensures that treatments are not only effective but also personalized to each patient’s needs. 

Benoît Lemire emphasizes the role of his team at the Chronic Viral Illness Service outpatient clinic: “The pharmacist's work in this clinic is crucial. We help [migrants living with HIV] to initiate and maintain therapy for a highly stigmatizing disease in the delicate context of their integration in a new host country.”
