Employee spotlight: Data Privacy Day

Congratulations! Thank you Audrey Trigub-Clover, and all your colleagues, for the excellent work you do.

Join us as we celebrate Data Privacy Day on January 28!

What led you to becoming Advisor, Information Security, Privacy and Awareness?

As a Quality Advisor in the QEPED, I learned about risk management and compliance. In 2015, the MUHC created an information security team to respond to the digital transformation of the hospital. I was very motivated in this innovation phase since we were creating something quite unique in the healthcare network. I designed the awareness program, as well as its evaluation. The focus was to develop and promote awareness training. Our priority was to become the first line of defense when it comes to protecting privacy and limit the possibilities of data breaches. My experience in compliance coupled with a certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) helped me transition from the roll out of the awareness program into the privacy specialization, in particular since the tabling of Bill 25 – that establishes the responsibilities and obligations that organizations must consider to protect the personal information of Quebecers. In a digital world, data is the new gold. Privacy at the MUHC means keeping personal health information protected.

What is the best advice that someone at the MUHC ever gave you?

Tackle every problem as an opportunity to grow and keep learning.

Tell us about working with your fellow colleagues?

It has been an incredible journey! It is an honour to contribute to an organization whose mission is dedicated to providing health, teaching and research. Everyone at the MUHC is incredibly knowledgeable. This is a beautiful world to belong to. I particularly enjoy the diversity of people, of projects, of solutions. Never a dull day!

How do you like to relax and unwind after a shift?

Outdoors! I need fresh air!
