Preparation guidelines

Abdominal ultrasoundFast for 5 hours prior to appointment and keep full bladder. Patient can take all medications and drink as much water as they wish.
ArthrogramFast for 4 hours prior to appointment.
Cardiac CT scanFast for 4 hours prior to appointment. No caffeine 12 hours prior to appointment. If applicable, stop theophylline 48 hours prior to appointment.
CT scan with contrast media injectionFast for 4 hours prior to appointment.
Endovaginal ultrasoundFast for 5 hours prior to appointment and keep full bladder. Patient can take all medications and drink as much water as they wish.
MRI enterographyPatient must take 4 tablets of Dulcolax (5mg each, ask pharmacist) at 16:00 the night before the appointment. Fasting as of midnight.
MRI prostate / adnexalPatient needs to pick up fleet enema at the pharmacy (no prescription needed, pharmacist will explain how to take fleet enema).
MRI with contrast media injectionFast for 4 hours prior to appointment.
Pelvic ultrasoundFast for 5 hours prior to appointment and keep full bladder. Patient can take all medications and drink as much water as they wish.
