Research and Innovation

The innovative structure of our clinical activities, which focuses on specialty clinics where there is integration of clinical care and research activities, is continuing to develop and offers opportunities to give the highest quality of care to our patients.

The MUHC Division of Rheumatology plays a very active role in rheumatology research both at the national and international levels. Many active projects are ongoing in the areas of:

  • rheumatoid arthritis,
  • lupus,
  • vasculitis,
  • antiphospholipid syndrome,
  • inflammatory pathways involved in arthritis,
  • and cartilage degradation.

The strength of our division is to approach all these important questions from all possible fronts including basic science research, epidemiological research, and clinical research.
