Continuous improvement
The Continuous Improvement department follows the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
All team members hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Interns have the opportunity to do:
- field diagnosis ("Gemba walk")
- process mapping
- data collection and analysis
- benchmarking of clinical processes
- presentation of solutions or recommendations to clients

Quality and risk management
Our team works to improve the quality and safety of care and services offered to patients and their families.
Those in Master's of Health Administration who complete internships with us can go on to pursue careers as planning, programming and research officers, as well as business process specialists.
The Q&R team oversees:
- Accreditation
- incident accident reporting, analysis and training
- claims (lost or damaged belongings)
- notices, recalls and alerts (for example: MIAM (Material Incident Accident Management) incident report, Vanessa’s Law on reporting serious adverse effects, etc.)
- improvement projects

Information systems and process improvement
The role of this department is to manage information related to the MUHC supply chain.
These are some examples of our interns' projects:
- data visualization via power BI
- development and extraction of reports via BI or SQL
- design and implementation of Machine Learning algorithms
- data manipulation using the Python language
- implementation of "Flask & Django" websites and hosting on servers
