Nursing and PCA internships

Nursing and PCA

We are proud to offer an enriching and welcoming learning environment to all our interns. We are dedicated to training and developing future healthcare professionals.

We believe hands-on learning is key. During your clinical placement at the MUHC, you'll have the chance to apply your theoretical knowledge in a real-life clinical environment.

Our clinical areas

The MUHC is a tertiary/quaternary institution offering a wide choice of clinical settings for interns. Each of our four sites has its own specialty. Clinical areas include surgery, medicine, oncology, neurology, mental health, pediatrics, maternal care, elder care, critical care, emergency care, ambulatory care settings and much more.

A dedicated nursing team

As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our dedicated nursing staff, learn from their expertise, and contribute to our mission of providing superior care.

Interns (PCA, LPN and nursing) must be placed at the MUHC through their educational institution. We work in partnership with various schools to try and accommodate all the requests. Some interns are part of clinical groups with an instructor and others are individual students who are paired with one of our nurses.

Nursing students can join our team as a PCA after the first year of study or as an extern after second year.

We understand it is important to support our interns and new staff throughout their careers. This is why we offer a very structured orientation for all new personnel and offer many programs to help support you on your career path at the MUHC.

We hope you will join us in our mission to provide exceptional quality care to our patients throughout your educational journey and after you obtain your diploma.
