Research and Innovation

Faculty members are active in basic and clinical research.

Basic research areas include studies into kidney cell biology, mediators of immune renal injury (complement, lipid mediators, cytokines and signal transduction), and mechanisms of renal cell injury.

Clinical research includes studies on biomarkers in chronic kidney injury, erythropoietin in end stage renal disease, management of end stage renal disease, epidemiology of chronic kidney disease and transplantation, pharmacology of immunosuppressive medications and mechanisms of kidney transplant rejection.
