Getting to the hospitals

The address of the Glen site is 1001 Décarie Boulevard, Montreal, QC H4A 3J1.

Coloured windows lining the north facade of the Glen mark the main entrance to both the adult and pediatric hospitals. Cars or taxis may drive up to the main entrance and drop off passengers. The Cedars Cancer Centre has a separate entrance on the east side. See Finding your way at the Glen site

Public transportation to the Glen site

STM's Paratransit service makes stops at three main entrances at the Glen site: the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Montreal Children's Hospital, and the Cedar Cancer Centre. Find out more at http://www.stm.info/en/para.

The 77 bus line drops patients right at the front door of the MUHC’s Glen site, enabling persons with limited mobility to reach their destination more easily. See the STM website for more information.

If you are arriving: 

  • by metro: Located on the Orange Line, Vendôme station is situated next to the Glen site and is connected to the Glen site by a tunnel. Please note, Vendôme station is not yet universally accessible. Persons of limited mobility should take bus 77 from Lionel-Groulx station or Transport Adapté. By winter 2020, Vendôme station will feature elevators and a new tunnel proving a direct link to the hospital. For more info: stm.info/vendôme
     
  • by bus: The 77 leaves from Lionel-Groulx and drops patients directly at the front doors of the Glen site and is accessible for individuals with limited mobility. There are six local buses that stop at Vendôme station (37, 90, 102, 104, 105, 124) and five that make frequent stops near the Glen site (17, 78, 63, 371, 420). Transport Adapté also offers three stops at Glen main entrances (Montreal Children's Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital and Cedars Cancer Centre.
     
  • by commuter trains: Vendôme station also connects to three commuter train lines: Saint-Jérôme, Candiac and Vaudreuil/Hudson. 

Arriving by bike

Dedicated bike lanes surround the site and connect to the City of Montreal lanes situated on Décarie and De Maisonneuve Boulevards. The Glen has numerous bike racks. 

Arriving by foot

Pedestrians can use entrances on Décarie Boulevard. and Glen Rd., as well as an extended underground tunnel from Vendôme station.

Driving by car

The hospital’s public entrance on Décarie Boulevard. is easily accessed from highways 15, 20 and 720. The public parking lot is located underneath the main plaza. 

The address of the Montreal General Hospital is 1650 Cedar Avenue, Montreal, Quebec, H3G 1A4.

Entrances are located on the North (Cedar Avenue) and South (Pine Avenue) sides of the hospital.  See the MGH hospital floorplan.

Public transportation to the Montreal General Hospital

If you are arriving: 

  • by metro: The nearest metro station is Guy-Concordia on the green line.
  • by bus: Bus access from these stations is very convenient.
    • From the Guy-Concordia station:
      • Bus 166, 165, 66 or R435
    • From the Atwater and Sherbrooke stations:

Driving by car

  • From Sherbrooke Street: take Côte-des-Neiges Avenue North;
  • From St. Denis Street take Pine Avenue West.
  • From the Decarie Autoroute, West Island or Champlain Bridge: follow the signs leading to “Montréal Centre-Ville, #520 autoroute Ville-Marie” and exit at Guy Street. At the first light, turn right onto Rene Levesque Boulevard. Follow until Guy Street and turn left, heading north.

Handicap Access

Handicap entrances are north of the main entrance on University Street, or through the ambulance entrance at the rear of the hospital.

Public transportation to the Montreal Neurological Hospital

If you are arriving: 

  • by metro: The nearest metro station is McGill on the green line, which is located at the corner of University Street and de Maisonneuve Boulevard. It will take you approximately 20 minutes to walk from the McGill Metro station to the main entrance of the hospital.
  • by bus: 
    • Bus 144. Exit at the stop on Pine Avenue and University Street
    • Bus 535 at Parc Avenue and Prince Arthur Street
    • Bus 107 at Pine Avenue and Doctor Penfield Street
    • Bus 24 at Sherbrooke Street and University Street.

Access for limited mobility

People with a vehicle displaying a Disabled Parking Permit can park in the spaces reserved for that purpose in the visitor parking lot located near the emergency entrance on St. Antoine Street.

Public transportation to the Lachine Hospital

If you are arriving: 

  • by metro/bus: Get off the metro at the Lionel-Groulx stop. Take the 191 bus to the corner of Provost and 16th Avenue. Walk down 16th Avenue.

Driving by car 

From Autoroute 20, take the 32nd Avenue exit. Take 32nd Avenue to Provost. Turn left on Provost and then turn right on 16th Avenue.
