Dr. Thanassoulis is the director of Preventive and Genomic Cardiology at the MUHC. His major clinical interests are in cardiovascular prevention. He also provides clinical services in the Echocardiography laboratory and in the Coronary Care Unit. His major research interests are in the genomics of aortic stenosis and acute coronary syndrome as well as in improving preventive care of young individuals with family history of heart disease or cardiometabolic risk factors.

Dr. Sniderman has conducted an extensive series of epidemiological studies, which have demonstrated apoB to be superior to LDL-cholesterol as a marker of the risk of vascular disease. His current research interests are understanding the regulation of plasma LDL, creating simplified, but advanced, diagnostic algorithms to recognize and treat those with and those at high risk of vascular disease, and developing new models to determine the absolute value of different strategies to identify and treat those at risk of vascular disease.

Dr. Labos is a cardiologist and an associate with the McGill Office for Science and Society whose mission is to promote critical thinking and present science to the public. He is a columnist with the Montreal Gazette, is featured on the Sunday Morning House Call on CJAD radio, and is a contributor to CTV Montreal and CBC Morning Live. He is also co-hostof the award-winning podcast “The Body of Evidence.”.

Wendy is a Fellow, and founder and past co-chair of the Montreal Chapter of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association. She is a member of the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance Advocacy Working Group, and is also the recipient of the 2017 Sara Louise King Award for Cardiology Research, the Senate of Canada 150 Bronze Medal and the 2017 MUHC Foundation Healthcare Professional of the Year Award.

Mireille is the nurse coordinator of the Family Heart Clinic at the Glen site of the MUHC. She also works as a research nurse for the RI-MUHC.

Nour is a kinesiologist with the Exercise Prescription Program. She is certified by the Quebec Kinesiologist Federation (FKQ). She holds a master's degree in kinesiology from McGill University, specializing in behavior change and working with people with disabilities and chronic conditions.

Working under the study's principal investigator, the role consists in assessing patients for protocol eligibility and explaining the study while keeping strict accurate records of the recruitment process and samplings for patient management and coordination. The role also entails safely processing the samples collected and conserving them in a laboratory setting.
