The Family Heart Centre (FHC), founded by Dr. George Thanassoulis, offers patients in-depth screening services, personalized prevention services, and the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge cardiovascular research.

Our services are available to individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who already have known coronary artery disease (CAD), or who are concerned because they have other risk factors, such as a family history of heart disease or high cholesterol. Immediate family members can participate, too. When you come to see us at the FHC, we will:

• Assess your cardiovascular risk factors
• Do advanced cholesterol assessments and genetic testing, as needed
• Initiate or optimize medical therapy, if needed
• Provide personalized counseling on a heart-healthy lifestyle
• Offer you the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge cardiovascular research
• Provide referrals to specialists and professionals, as needed.

Appointments are available at our clinic for patients with premature CAD who were admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) or who have a referral from a physician.

Appointments can be done via telemedicine or in person. Your cardiovascular health and needs will be assessed at you first appointment. Depending on your situation you might benefit from long-term follow-up with us. However, for most cases, long term care will be transferred to your treating physician once your cardiovascular health (cholesterol control) is optimized.
