Montreal doctors spearhead cannabis clinical trial
Santé Cannabis medical clinic has partnered with a pharmaceutical research firm to recruit more than 500 patients and conduct a one-year study surrounding the safety and efficacy of marijuana in the treatment of chronic pain. As demand for childhood surgery increases, dentists ask Montreal to fluoridate water
With the waiting list for dental surgery in Montreal's pediatric hospitals being nearly a year long, dentists are saying it's time for Montreal to add fluoride to drinking water. Montreal chef Olivier Perret rallies colleagues to cook for a cause
The idea — a gastronomic fundraising dinner prepared by him and a group of fellow chefs — began as a way for Olivier Perret to celebrate his return to work, to thank the doctors who had treated his leukemia and contributed to his recovery, and to help organizations raising money for cancer research and patient care. The executive chef of Montreal’s Sofitel Golden Mile was grateful for the support of what he termed “a small village”: his medical team at the MUHC, the supportive cancer care services of the MUHC’s Cedars Cancer Centre, a loving family, friends who’d looked in on him, and colleagues who had pitched in.
