2023-09-22-Lachine Hospital modernization - A note to our neighbors

The Lachine Hospital expansion site is bordered by the following streets: 13th Avenue, Saint-Antoine Street and 16th Avenue. Space is at a premium. This poses a challenge for worksite management, and may have an impact on the surrounding neighborhood.

The HOP Lachine team is working with the construction manager (AXOR) to ensure compliance with City of Lachine regulations. Work is authorized seven (7) days a week, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Weekend work is rare, but sometimes necessary in exceptional situations.

If heavy trucks (concrete mixers, formwork deliveries, etc.) are required to operate on the streets, the contractor must ensure that the available space is clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles.

The contractor responsible must obtain required permits from the city, and install signs indicating a parking restriction the day before the work.

Where necessary, flag persons will be present to regulate traffic flow and assure pedestrian safety.

The contractor is responsible for removing signs and cleaning up the street and sidewalks after work has been completed.

We understand the inconvenience caused by the construction, but the site is progressing at a good pace and we are confident that the impact on the population will diminish over time.

Thank you for contacting us by e-mail. It helps us keep track of operations and notify the appropriate parties.
