Lachine Hospital to undergo $95 million expansion

Quebec Health Minister Gaétan Barrette announced a $95 million expansion project of the Lachine Hospital on Thursday. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2020, and is to be completed by the spring 2023. Read more in the Montreal Gazette.

Lachine Hospital: the modernization project is approved

The $ 95 million modernization project for the Lachine Hospital in southwest Montreal has been approved by the Quebec government. Preparatory work is already under way, and work will only begin in the fall of 2020. The project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2023. As a provincially designated Pediatric and Adolescent Trauma Centre, the Montreal Children’s Hospital sees an average of 1 drowning a week during the summer and the majority of these drownings involve young children under the age of 5 and occur in swimming pools. Liane Fransblow, the trauma coordinator of the Injury Prevention Program at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, spoke to the Montreal Gazette this week, as well as Breakfast Television
