Social workers are available on-site to offer health information and support groups. They counsel and support patients and their caregivers. They help with:
- management of diagnosis and coping skills
- anxiety and emotional difficulties
- caregiver burden and fatigue
- couple and family issues
- housing and financial issues
- transportation and lodging
- immigration-related issues
Referrals can be made by nurses, physicians and other team members, or you can call us yourself.

Nutrition can become a challenge when you don’t feel well, just when you need strength and energy most. Cancer and cancer treatments can affect your appetite and digestion. An oncology dietitian is part of the treatment team and can help you understand how to adjust your diet to your current situation and symptoms so you can maximize the energy and nutrients your body is getting and improve your quality of life.
We offer nutritional assessment and counselling for cancer-related issues, such as:
- unwanted weight loss
- loss of muscle mass
- poor appetite
- changes in digestion
- treatment side-effects, such as:
- diarrhea
- changed food taste
- difficulty swallowing
- blood sugar control
