Radiation Oncology

The MUHC’s Division of Radiation Oncology is a leader in radiotherapy, cancer research, and technology testing and development. Our state-of-the-art equipment and innovative approaches allow us to contribute to advances in radiotherapy techniques, personalized treatment plans, and precision medicine.

Training the next generation of radiation oncologists and technologists is also one of our key mandates. Our Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has trained physicians from Canada and around the world.

Radiotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that can also be used to treat non-cancerous conditions.

It uses high doses of radiation to damage cancer cells until they are destroyed.
