How to get to the Montreal General Hospital
The address of the Montreal General Hospital (MGH) is 1650 Cedar Avenue, Montreal, Quebec, H3G 1A4. Entrances are located on the north (Cedar Avenue) and south (Pine Avenue) sides of the hospital. See the MGH floorplan.
Arriving by car:
- From Sherbrooke Street: take Côte-des-Neiges Avenue North.
- From St. Denis Street take Pine Avenue West.
- From the Decarie Autoroute, West Island or Champlain Bridge: follow the signs leading to “Montréal Centre-Ville, #520 autoroute Ville-Marie” and exit at Guy Street. At the first light, turn right onto Rene Levesque Boulevard. Follow until Guy Street and turn left, heading north.
Parking is available on-site in a covered multi-level parking lot. It is accessible from the Pine Ave. and Cedar Ave. entrances.
There are numerous spaces for vehicles with a handicap parking permit on level P14 and near the main entrance on Pine avenue.
People may also be dropped off/picked up at the hospital main entrance on Cedar Ave. Vehicles must then either park in the parking lot or leave the premises. All entrances, exits and roads must be free of vehicles for safety and security reasons. The City of Montreal is permitted to issue parking tickets for vehicles illegally parked on Montreal General Hospital grounds.
If you are visiting the Montreal General Hospital Emergency Department (ED), enter on Pine Ave. to access the parking lot closest to the ED main entrance.
For the safety and security of the patients and their family, the speed limit on hospital grounds is 10km per hour.

Rates change every April 1st according to a fee schedule established by the Government of Quebec. Therefore, the following rates will be applied as of April 1st, 2024:

Where does parking money go?
As per government directives, our parking lots and services are self-financed. Parking revenues are used to repay the cost of construction, maintenance, staffing, etc. Any excess revenues go into the hospital operating budget in order to support patient care, including the purchase of hospital equipment, etc.
