Keeping patients and their families connected during the pandemic

Keeping patients in touch with their families has been a major challenge amid the pandemic, but a new program is helping to facilitate communication.

Personnel at Lachine Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital, the Montreal Neurological Hospital and at the Royal Victoria Hospital have been using tablets to organize video calls so patients can see their loved ones.

Social worker Noah Markis-Morrison says the comfort it brings them is clear: “I’ve witnessed some heartwarming calls that have definitely given patients a boost in their healing process.”
