A charming surprise for doctors spending the night at Lachine

Acts of kindness like these give the Lachine Hospital its characteristic community atmosphere. A few weeks ago, the hospital began receiving additional doctors to support their cardiac arrest teams. When Julie Marcil, Nurse Manager in the Operating Room, Peri-Operative and Medical Device Reprocessing Unit (MDRU) heard doctors were on their way - and that they would be spending the night in order to help - she set out to give them a special welcome.

"I asked the housekeeping team to carefully clean the rooms they were going to sleep in," Julie says. "After the towels were changed, I folded them into animal shapes like they do in hotels."

Dr. Nicole Ezer came across Julie's creations and decided she also wanted to contribute. She surrounded Julie's pieces with delicious snacks.

"Most of these doctors had never come to the Lachine Hospital before," says Julie. "It was my way of saying thank you."
