Reducing breast cancer relapse
Dr. Jamil Asselah, medical oncologist at the MUHC and researcher at the RI-MUHC, talks about advances in cancer treatment, and more specifically, about the hope offered by a new breast cancer drug, ribociclib. According to the preliminary results of a clinical trial, this drug taken in combination with hormone therapy would reduce the number of relapses by 20% to 25% in patients with an early form of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
