Are preventative measures against allergies taken into consideration in the kitchens of the MUHC?

The Glen site kitchen has been designed for those with special dietary restrictions in mind. We have built a separate kitchen to prepare food for patients with severe allergies and those who require dietary supplements. This space has its own oven, sink, and fridge, to eliminate cross-contamination of food products. Methods of distribution are also being evaluated in order to improve safety still further in the handling of separate meals for patients with dietary restrictions.
