Réponse : The time to receive a result is variable based on the test type. Some tests are run all day and others are run at specific intervals. Once the test is done, the result is downloaded from the lab instrument to the Laboratory Information System and from there it is directed to the ordering doctor. If your doctors who work outside of the MUHC have agreed to receive results on a secure confidential fax, the results will be sent that way, otherwise they are mailed. 

We are in the process of asking all doctors to provide us with a fax number to eliminate the option of mailing test results.
