Why did the Montreal General Hospital not move to the Glen?
May 29th, 2014
In 2003, the Government of Quebec asked the MUHC to maintain a hospital open in downtown Montreal. The MUHC chose the Montreal General Hospital as it is the most recently constructed adult care building and has the only adult level one trauma care centre downtown. Additionally, significant infrastructure investments have been made at the Montreal General in recent years, including the modernization of the Mental Health, Gastroenterology and Cardiac Care units, as well as extensive work on the power and heating system. We will carry on with the modernization of the Montreal General Hospital in the years to come.
