The Pharmacy service of the Lachine Hospital

The Pharmacy service of the Lachine Hospital was looked after by nuns for many years. It was only in 1974 that responsibility for dispensing medications was transferred to pharmacists.

Today, the role of the pharmacists has evolved considerably: they hold graduate degrees, work in specialized clinical areas, consult on patient care and undertake research.
