What if I have symptoms of COVID-19 when I come to the hospital for my hospital appointment?

The clinic should have already contacted you to inform you if your appointment is postponed or not. If developed COVID symptoms between the time you are called and the day of your appointment, please make sure you notify the clinic.

IMPORTANT

All patients and employees who enter an MUHC hospital must wear a mask and are triaged at the entrance. You will be asked if you have a new onset of one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Nasal congestion + runny nose
  • Vomiting (children)

You will also be asked if you have had contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive.

Once you arrive at the clinic, a more thorough assessment will be conducted to determine whether your appointment can take place or not.
